IMPROVISATION
A dynamic introduction to the art of improvisation that connects students to their creative impulses. Through a variety of games and exercises students learn to create theatre spontaneously. Imprhave a good time exploring Shakespeare without getting hung up on the heightened language. Using music and rhythm games,Shakespearean insults and a variety of games and exercises,students begin to play with and explore the language and of Shakespeare. By the end of the workshop,students will feel less intimidated by Shakespeare’s language and be introduced to the joy of performing classical text.

SHAKESPEARE SYNOPSIS
An entertaining,innovative and interactive introduction to any one of Shakespeare’s plays. The Fools lead your students through a variety of games and exercises that introduce them to the story and themes in the play you are studying,encourage them to explore and play with the language. An in depth exploration act by act can be had over 5 sessions. Ideal for both Literature and Drama classes.

PLAYING WITH SHAKESPEARE
An introductory workshop that encourages students to have a good time exploring Shakespeare without getting hung up on the heightened language. INTRODUCTION TO MASK PERFORMANCE
Using a variety of full face,half face and animal masks provided by the instructor,students will explore the basics of mask impulse and mask character. The fundamentals of mask technique will be examined:designed bodies,expressive eyes,musicality and rhythm. Masks of different styles and traditions from around the world are used in this mask workshop. Mask Making can also be taught.

INTRODUCTION TO CLOWN
Students are introduced to the history of clowning as they play a variety of games and exercises that lead them to the discovery of their own personal clown. The fundamentals of clown technique are explored:gesture,audience connection,rhythm,breath and the art of simplicity. Students will be challenged and encouraged to find their own inner ridiculousness and laugh at it. Each student will earn their own nose after presenting one wonderful thing to their peers.

  • demonstrate an understanding of a range of informational and literary forms,with an emphasis on research articles and plays;analysis elements of style in a variety of texts,focusing on how the elements contribute to clear and effective communication,improvisation boosts self-confidence in students and provides skills in communication,team work,problem solving and creative thinking
