Winter is a strange beast. Snow and ice glitter and glow and create beautiful worlds of mystery and magic. Yet cold is harsh,unyielding and killing. On the one hand we have the light effervescence of a winter wonderland,on the other the deadly brittle crack of frost and ice.
A Midwinter’s Dream Tale explores these two sides of winter through the medium of two of Shakespeare’s plays. The worlds of A Midsummer Nights Dream and The Winter’s Tale collide with a hint of Alice Through the Looking Glass. The show combines Shakespeare’s text,new text,music,and movement to create a visual and aural spectacle that will engage viewers of all ages.
This Gladstone Theatre and A Company of Fools production stars Scott Florence and Margo MacDonald reprising their roles as the beloved clown duo,Pomme Frites and ‘Restes,together again in an all new adventure.
Featuring Fools Favourite Emmanuelle Zeesman as Titania with honorary Fools Kris Joseph as Oberon and Jesse Buck in the role of Puck;Directed by AL Connors.
Midwinter’s Dream Tale opens at The Gladstone Theatre opening February 4th and running until February 21st,2009.
