a Company of Fools is currently seeking a paid Apprentice Front of House Manager to join the Torchlight Shakespeare team during the run of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Candidates must be between the ages of 15-30 and returning to full-time post studies in the fall.
Contract date: June 26th-August 26th, 2017 (9WKS)
Pay Rate: $13.00/HR 35HRS/WK
Apprentice Front of House Manager:
Reporting to the Front of House Manager, the Apprentice Front of House Manager is the first point of contact for many valued audience members and volunteers who take time to attend the well established Ottawa tradition of Torchlight Shakespeare. In addition to being a key liaison between the company and the public, the Apprentice Front of House Manager will be responsible to aid with the set up, tear down and running of Front of House Operations, volunteer coordination, ushering, merchandise and concessions, processing donations, audience relations, survey management and other tasks as required. Duties also include postering, flyering, social media and light administration.
Successful candidates must be available for the entire run, be physically capable of repeated heavy lifting and be able to maintain a professional, positive attitude at all times and in all sorts of summer weather (rain, shine, heat, humidity, cold).
Customer service experience
Cash handling experience
Familiar with social media, iPad and iPhone
Familiarization with Ottawa theatre companies and practices
Well organized and detail oriented
Clear communication skills
Positive, professional and respectful attitude
Reliability and punctuality
Sense of humour
Considered Assets (not required)
Familiar with a Company of Fools and/or pursuit of theatre-related studies
Volunteer coordination and/or experience working with volunteers
CPR and/or First Aid Training
G Class Driver’s License / Access to a vehicle
