The Haunted Walk of Ottawa Sponsors Shakespeare's Danish Play Ghost

If you find Shakespeare's Danish Play at The Gladstone particularly spine-tingling, it may have something to do with an extra-special spectre – A Company of Fools is pleased to welcome the Haunted Walk of Ottawa as the official sponsor of the ghost that haunts (or is that, curses?) Shakespeare's Danish Play, January 28 – February 27, 2010 at The Gladstone.

Shakespeare's Danish Play is a re-imagining of Hamlet with a little MacBeth and the Marx Brothers thrown in for good measure. Throughout the play, the attempts of Pomme Frites, 'Restes and their friends to perform Hamlet are dogged at every step by the presence of a ghost.

“Well, we needed someone to be the ghost and since we strive for authenticity in every performance, we thought, what if we cast an ACTUAL ghost?” says Artistic Director, Scott Florence, “But where to find one? Of course, if you're looking for the best ghosts in Ottawa there is only one place to go – The Haunted Walk of Ottawa.”

The Haunted Walk offers a variety of unique evening walking tours exploring local ghost stories and the darker side of Ottawa's history. Backed by extensive research, cloaked guides weave their tales by lantern-light and who knows what spectral phenomenon you'll encounter up close and on foot!

If you enjoy Shakespeare's Danish Play, you might just get to meet the ghost again some evening on a Haunted Walk of Ottawa tour! For more information and to book your ticket on-line, visit The Haunted Walk of Ottawa (and don't miss “Whelan's Night” coming up February 11th!)
