a Company of Fools engages professional artists under the Canadian Theatre Agreement.
General Auditions are held by appointment each November/December. The deadline for submissions for the 2017 Season is November 4th, 2016. This year’s auditions will be held on Monday November 21st and Tuesday November 22nd.
Please be sure that your application includes a cover letter, cv, email address, phone number and Canadian Actor’s Equity Association status. Submissions can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org to the attention of Catriona Leger, Artistic Director.
Those selected for a General Audition will be asked to prepare two contrasting Shakespearean monologues (maximum of two minutes each) and a short verse of a folk or jazz song (30 seconds maximum). Songs must be sung unaccompanied, unless the artist brings a handheld acoustic instrument they wish to play well.
Callback Auditions for particular productions are by invitation and will not be posted. Except in extraordinary circumstances, artists will not be invited to a casting audition unless they have been seen at a general audition or worked with the ensemble in recent years.
Submissions from designers, composers technicians and stage managers are welcome. Please email cover letter and cv to email@example.com and indicate your desired position in the subject line. Please include a link to samples of your work, if applicable.
