AUDITIONS for a Company of Fools’ A MidWinter’s Dream Tale

Presented as part of the GCTC’s 2011-2012 season.
We are looking for the roles of Oberon and Titania, the King and Queen of the Fairies. CAEA members will be seen first. A Company of Fools encourages performers of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds to apply.
Auditions will take place in Ottawa:
Tuesday May 24, 1pm – 8pm
Saturday May 28th, 11am – 6pm
Rehearsals Begin: November 1, 2011
Show Run: November 28 — Dec. 18

For the audition, please prepare one Shakespearean monologue, and one song. The monologue may be comedic or dramatic, however a comedic monologue or a monologue in a comedic style would be preferable. Alternatively, you may bring a scene partner and perform a prepared scene from Shakespeare. (If you choose this option, please indicate at the time of booking whether your scene partner also wishes to be considered as auditioning.)
Female range: Soprano with a strong high belt; alternately a mezzo with a strong/high mix voice.
Male range: a baritone with a strong ability to hold his own harmony.
Actors should arrive with a readiness and willingness to play and should be prepared to do a cold reading.
A Company of Fools is a professional theatre company and provides honorariums to artists. Equity Artists will be engaged under the ITA.
